Today, 5 June 2009 in Ploiesti City celebrates the World Environment Day.
For municipality this day represents a good opportunity to disseminate and promote the principles of a healthy and friendly environment.
Therefore, this year is launched the first bus on bio-fuel within BIONIC project framework. In this project the local authority together with Oil and Gas Ploiesti University are promoting the bio-fuel as an ecological fuel for the transport in the city. Bio-fuel is obtained from vegetable oils and it has the same characteristics of the diesel fuel.
Another environment protection action was the cleaning of an important leisure area near Ploiesti, where have been participated voluntaries from local authorities and students in order to stress the importance of preserving the green areas.
