Continuation of ÅU funding for Q-Cities' Initiatives for the years 2012, 2013
We are happy to announce that the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency selected Q-Cities' project: "Town twinning by sharing best practises - Improving Quality of Public Services", in order to co finance it, under "Europe for Citizens Programme", for the period 2012 – 2013.
Being a European cities Network, consisting of twinned towns with experience and expertise in quality administrative policies at a local level, Q-cities receives for 2nd consecutive time , a key financial support grant from the European Commission, aiming to provide to all parties involved an insight to innovative quality best ideas from across Europe. As the assurance of quality is a constantly evolving concept, Q-Cities has grown its reputation over the last years in proving that quality is not an issue "Out of the Blue" but the core of the improvement of the European public services.
Thus, it continues elucidating promising quality pathways, being oriented on disseminating the know-how for leading in practice to more competitive, cost effective and efficient municipal services.
The core axes of the Q-Cities Work Programme for the next two years are:
Stimulate the involvement of new "Quality stakeholders", creating thus a more "dynamic drive" towards a successful shift from knowledge to competency-based quality practices/activities/initiatives.
Take advantage of the twinning interlinkages between the city-members, in order to strengthen the joint work in priority areas and at the same time create new twinning bonds among cities that share Q-Cities' vision.
Implement a joint foresight quality strategy that will be the backbone for formulating new liaisons on quality issues.
Inspire and motivate continuous improvements among the European cities, through the establishment of the annual "Q-Cities Award" as an incentive to ameliorate and thus deliver better services to the customers/citizens.
